Lead Pharmacist - Clean Room

The Lead Pharmacist, Clean Room is a full time pharmacist responsible for coordinating activities, processes, and quality management in the Pharmacy Clean Room. This includes primarily staffing the Clean Room for approximately 70 percent of shifts worked, staffing other areas in the pharmacy for approximately 20 percent of shifts worked, and performing administrative functions for approximately 10 percent of shifts worked, including policy/procedure review and quality assurance activities to maintain clean room standards. The primary goal of this position is to align staff with regard to standard work for production, clean room and equipment maintenance, and quality standards. This person would be responsible for maintaining quality control standards consistent with industry standards (e.g. USP 797 & 800).    Familiar with the computer medication order entry process Familiar with current clinical and therapeutic literature Good interpersonal skills to deal with a wide variety of individuals Good analytic skills to make rational decisions about patient care Good communication skills to achieve understanding and acceptance Ability to work in a team environment Adaptable to performing multiple tasks Ability to prioritize orders Maintenance of a professional appearance Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of Illinois. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work to complete urgent tasks preferentially. Ability to work rotating shifts and weekends. Schedule flexibility to meet the needs of the institution, adaptable to changes in workload and/or work schedule. Ability to effectively communicate with various levels of hospital staff Ability to travel to various operating units of the hospital. Ability to walk up / down stairs and use the elevators. Ability to work in a stressful environment Ability to use hands and fingers repetitively (ie. use of computer keyboard) Ability to stand, sit, stoop, and kneel Ability to do medium lifting (20 50 lbs occasionally, 10 25 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs. Consistently) Ability to perform work and communicate with normal range of hearing and vision Ability to physically operate the equipment used in the job The Lead Pharmacist Operations is responsible for overseeing the preparation and dispensing of medication, medication order computer entry, the monitoring of patient medication therapy, and acting as a resource for the provision of medication information for patients, physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals. The lead pharmacist identifies, recommends, resolves, and prevents medication related problems through the intervention with physicians. The lead pharmacists supervise and direct pharmacist staff.
